Absolutely stunning a first class stay from start to finish! What a gorgeous property this is. Honestly it is one of the best hotels I’ve ever visited. The property and rooms are immaculate. The beds are comfortable and appointed simply. We …
What an amazing place! The castle is beautiful and has great views from the tower. We enjoyed an excellent wine tasting event with Alex and fantastic cooking class with Andre. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner and the meals were delicious, including the gluten free items as well. The service was outstanding.
We stayed here for 4 nights in one of the junior suites. The hotel is very peaceful and relaxing, and a great base to explore Tuscany.
The service we received was amazing. Every single one of the staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent. My girlfriend is coeliac which they were very accommodating of, serving a separate gluten free breakfast. The Chef, and the team, obviously fully understood the importance of ensuring no cross contamination. We had the 4 course tasting menu on our first evening which was fantastic. We then decided to book to eat again on our last evening (you should book as they get busy!)
We did the wine tasting experience which I would recommend you don’t want to miss! It was hosted by their Sommelier Alex who has an amazing attention to detail and manner with guests, making a very enjoyable, informative experience. It was hosted in the beautiful cellar. It focused on learning about Chianti wine and the tools you need to taste it, rather than just trying to sell the wine. It was truly one of the most enjoyable wine tasting experiences we've had and of perfect length, without feeling rushed.
We will always remember this place with great fondness and would love to go back and stay again, hopefully for longer next time!
The location itself is unique and special. For dinner the restaurant was very good and average priced for this kind of experience.
However, we had an absolutely atrocious interaction with the manager of the property. We had requested to sit at a table to eat panini that we bought at a local shop. The staff told us that if we weren't eating at their restaurant and we could not use the tables to eat; we'd have to eat lunch in our room. We were disappointed so I walked away from the conversation, the manager proceeded to chase me up the stairs and yell at me in front of my entire family and 3 year old son. I'll leave it at that to not make this review personal, but I've never been treated this way by a hotel manager or staff. It was appalling and the level of unprofessionalism was truly remarkable. Ultimately, it ruined what would have been a nice stay.
As for the pool and property, there are a few bars but no one is consistently available to provide drinks. Also the pool does not have a shallow end so it is not suitable for children.
As regular travelers to Italy this would've likely become a place we would have come back to, but that certainly will not be the case.
We had an amazing stay at the Castello di Tornano! The whole team was amazing - we definitely felt at home… but in a castle! If you can, the Dinner in the Cellar is a must-do experience.
My family have spent 11 wonderful days relaxing by the pool; winning tasting which was set in a wonderful room and great knowledge shared; beautiful food; a cooking class in their kitchen which felt relaxed and special to be invited into a real kitchen making four courses and then being served our preparations. The staff are all extremely friendly and accomodating. I hope to travel back from Australia again and would definitely be returning here. Thank you for an amazing time and sad to leave, grazie.
We had a wonderful stay at Castello di Tornano. The place itself was like something out of a fairytale. The staff was incredibly nice and welcoming, we enjoyed a wine tasting and an excellent dinner. The breakfast was wonderful too. |The …
My husband and I just returned from a trip where we stayed 3 nights in the cottage at Tornano. It was outstanding. The people there are helpful and incredibly kind, the food is unreal, the grounds are breathtakingly beautiful and you have …
